Schedule of Events Saturday, July 19, 2003 9AM - 4-H Shooting Sports, .22 (Sportsmen's Range, Meeker) Sunday, July 20, 2003 9AM - 4-H Shooting Sports, Shotgun (Elks Shooting Range, Rangely) Wednesday, July 23, 2003 5 PM - All Livestock Market & Breeding Entries for 4-H/FFA projects, also including Dogs, Goats, Rabbits, Poultry, Open Livestock and Sheep Lead Contest entry forms are due at the Extension Office in Meeker or Rangely. Pre-entries accepted for Horse Show also. Thursday, July 24, 2003 12 Noon - Entries due for Baled Hay Contest 2 PM - Fashion Revue Judging 7 PM - 4-H Fashion Revue, Meeker School Admin. Bldg, public welcome Friday, July 25, 2003 Arena & track closed until 6 PM Booth reservations due Saturday, July 26, 2003 7-8 AM - Entries taken Horse Halter Classes 8-11 AM - Entries taken other Horse Classes & Performances. 8:30 AM - Horse Show Classes 1-60 Monday, July 28, 2003 Scales closed until time of official weigh-in. 12 Noon - Begin booth assembly 10 PM - Booth assembly completed Tuesday, July 29, 2003 7-9 AM - Entries taken for 4-H General projects 9 AM - 3 PM - 4-H Exhibit Day. Interview judging followed by Exhibit judging - judging closed to the public. 12 Noon - Short lunch break 3 PM - Dog Show - Paintbrush Park Wednesday, July 30, 2003 12 Noon - Beef, Sheep, Swine and Goats may be bedded at this time. 2 - 3:30 PM Beef Weigh-In 3:30 - 5 PM - Goat & Sheep Weigh-In 5 - 7 PM - Swine Weigh-In 6 PM - Little Buckaroo Rodeo, outside arena 6 - 8 PM - Indoor Exhibits accepted/non-perishables 6 - 8 PM - Wool Fleece entries accepted 8 PM - 4-H/FFA Rabbits/Poultry in place on fairgrounds Thursday, Jully 31, 2003 7 - 9 AM - Indoor exhibits accepted 8 AM - Open Class Goats, Poultry & Rabbits stalled 8:30 AM - Goat 4-H/FFA Showmanship classes followed by Market, 4-H Breeding and Open classes 10 AM - Indoor Exhibit 10 AM - Baled Hay contest judging begins 12 Noon - Weigh-In Rabbits & Poultry 1 PM - Poultry classes followed by Rabbit classes (market classes will show first) 2 PM - Cloverbuds Show & Tell - exhibit hall 3 PM - Sheep Lead practice - indoor arena 5 PM - Swine 4-H/FFA Showmanship classes followed by market classes 6 - 9 PM - Exhibit Halls open for viewing Friday, August 1, 2003 8 AM - 9 PM - Exhibit Halls open for viewing 8 AM - Sheep 4-h/FFA Showmanship classes followed by market classes 9 AM - Breeding & Open sheep stalled 10 AM - Pet Rock Contest, fairgrounds parking lot 10:30 AM - Wool Show 11 AM - Open Sheep Show & Orphan Lambs 1 PM - Sheep Lead Contest - indoor arena 3 - 4 PM - Release excess baked goods 5 PM - Baked Goods Auction during Beef Show 5 PM - Beef 4-H/FFA Showmanship classes followed by Market, Open and Dairy clases 6 PM - Stock Growers BBQ at fairgrounds 7 PM - Salsa Contest - exhibit hall 7 PM - County Fair Team Roping (Entries at 6:30 PM) Mike Love Concert on the Court House Lawn at about dusk following the Beef Show & Salsa Contest. Saturday, August 2, 2003 8 AM - 5 PM - Exhibit Hall open for viewing 9:30 AM - 4-H/FFA Round Robin - outdoor arena 10 AM - Paint branding begins - wash racks closed 11 AM - Rabbit Chase - track 11 AM - Adult Sheep Showmanship Jackpot - track - Sponsored by 4-H Foundation 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM - Lions Club Barbecue 11:30 AM - FFA Cow Bingo - track 11:30 AM - Commissioners Cookie Jar contest in the grandstands 12 Noon - Music entertainment - "Flat Top Fiddlers" 1:30 PM - Presale awards/activities 2 PM - Livestock Sale 3 PM - Release all non-sale animals 5 - 7 PM - Release premiums & indoor exhibits (wool fleece included) Sunday, August 3, 2003 7 AM - Load out remaining animals Monday, August 4, 2003 8 AM - 5 PM - Premiums available. Any premiums not picked up Saturday, August 2 between 5-7 PM or Monday, August 4 in either the Meeker or Rangely Extension Office will be forfeited! Tuesday, August 5, 2003 Thank you notes: All Junior Livestock sale animal thank-you notes are due in the Extension Office by 5 PM. Must fit into a 5x7 envelope for mailing. Tuesday, September 2, 2003 5 PM - Completed 4-H Livestock Record Books (including Dog & Horse) due to the Extension Office. |
